On Monday, the tribunal heard call records and data recovered from phones recorded Ms Wandelt persistently demanding Madeleine's mother for a DNA test throughout the past two years.

Madeleine's case in 2007 - when she was three years old during a trip in Portugal - is among the most publicized child disappearance cases and is still unsolved.

'I Do Not Need Money'

A separate recorded message, shared in court, captured Ms Wandelt stating: "I realize I'm overweight and plain like Madeleine had been, but I believe what I know."

While a separate message of Ms Wandelt's one-way conversations with Mrs McCann's recording expressed: "Imagine there is a slight possibility that I'm her? What then? Isn't that significant for you?"

"I don't want money, I have a life here in Poland, I just want to know," the recording stated.

The jury was advised that by means of electronic messages, text messages and communications, Ms Wandelt requested a biological test, sent youth pictures to her phone in a effort to show a similarity to Mrs McCann's missing daughter, and stated to have "recollections" from a youth with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, an investigator with law enforcement who gathered the data, informed the court there "didn't appear to be any answers" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt furthermore reached out to acquaintances of the McCanns, as per the call data.

On 9 October 2024, the father picked up a phone call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, declaring she had "incorrect contact information."

That day Ms Wandelt deposited a recording on Mrs McCann's answerphone declaring "I will persist and I will prove my claim."

The court was informed the co-defendant struck up a association online with Ms Wandelt before joining her on a trip to the McCanns' residence in Leicestershire in that winter.

Phone records demonstrated Mrs Spragg had contacted through communication app to Mrs McCann to say the news outlets had portrayed Ms Wandelt as "mentally unstable" but that she deserved to be treated respectfully in the months leading up to the trip to Rothley, that area, in December 2024.

The court learned correspondence between the two defendants, in November 2024, considering trying to obtain Mrs McCann's DNA samples from her garbage or from cutlery at a dining venue.

"We have to take action," Mrs Spragg informed Ms Wandelt.

On the evening of the visit to their residence, the defendant dispatched a text which said: "We're currently sitting adjacent to the McCanns' residence with our lights out like investigators. I wanted to achieve this with someone else I didn't imagine I would be involved in this with the McCanns."

The trial proceeds.
