Barça Ready for Inaugural Game at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend

Barça revealed their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou this Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in La Liga two and a half years following their departure to allow renovations to start.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside based on approved permits. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. Officials confirmed finished work included an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barcelona held a public practice inside the stadium on 7 November. They mentioned they are seeking authorization from Uefa to host the next European match versus the German side next month at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held in the temporary ground.
