The team omitted the name of Rice by name in their statement and said they would have “no further comment at this time”. Claims Posted on Social Media The woman, who likewise did not name the athlete directly, shared a series of photos on Instagram that seemed to depict signs of physical abuse. She stated the individual in question was the father of her children, and it is known she has two children with Rice, whom the team selected in the second round. Official Complaints Reportedly Not on File No police reports were available in Overland Park, Kansas where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place. Rice's Prior Legal Issues The receiver missed the initial part of this NFL campaign following an NFL suspension for his role in instigating a crash on a Texas roadway that resulted in several individuals injured. He was sentenced 30 days in jail and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses. On the field, Rice concluded the year with 53 catches for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Kansas City finished with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a decade.
