Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director

Posting on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, stated he just recently felt prepared to share openly about his deep grief.

"Adequate time has passed that I can finally articulate my loss into words," wrote Elwes, adding that his initial encounter with Reiner created an instant bond. "As we began sharing more moments together I knew this was someone I desired in my life."

The actor uploaded archival material from the film, adding that he doesn't recollect "one day without mirth".

"This story is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Values that Rob cherished deeply. That is part of the many reasons he was the best person to direct it," Elwes wrote.

He additionally honored Michele Reiner, saying: "Claiming that they were a formidable pair would be an oversimplification. My heart still pangs every time I remember you." He ended with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Fellow Artist

In a different essay, revered director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.

"From the start, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese pointed out Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the protagonist.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a expert at comedy, he worked beautifully with the cast, and he comprehended the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Restricted

This week, a Los Angeles superior court judge decided to block the disclosure of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, at the request from the LAPD.

A judicial mandate issued a restriction on the cases to restrict the public release of "all case details, evidence and photographs" associated with the ongoing investigation.

The coroner's office had already determined their deaths were the consequence of murder, with a record citing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

After the deaths, public individuals shared varying comments.

Ex-President Donald Trump commented on the matter, providing controversial statements that were widely condemned by numerous individuals.

Podcaster Joe Rogan added his criticism to the those speaking out recently. Speaking on his show, Rogan labeled the statements as "disappointing" and remarked they revealed a worrisome lack of empathy.

Rogan ended by suggesting that an aide should have acted when the impulse to comment on the death was made.
