Trump's Granddaughter Gets Expert Advice from Tiger Woods Ahead of LPGA Debut

Emerging athlete getting ready for major competition

This young athlete maintains impressive social media audience

Kai Trump will have plenty of high-profile backers as she makes her LPGA debut on Thursday.

The 18-year-old athlete, who is the granddaughter of a former US president, obtained a tournament invitation to play at Florida's Annika event in Florida.

The former president, a passionate golfer, operates several international courses and frequently competes against Kai.

"He's quite skilled. I can't say much but we have some close matches," she stated.

Kai explained that her grandfather, who won't be present, counseled her: "Just don't get nervous."

"He practically advised me to compete and relax," she explained.

"In my eyes, he's just a normal grandpa. He can't make it this weekend. He's occupied with running the country, making him quite busy."

As an amateur, the golfer has played in only three events this year and maintains the 461st position in the American Junior Golf Association standings.

However she's able to seek guidance from Tiger Woods, who is dating Kai's mother.

"He is the greatest golfer worldwide," Kai expressed.

"Furthermore, he's a superior person. He suggested me to play, enjoy myself, and go with whatever happens."

She'll challenge multiple the biggest names in the sport at the competition, featuring world number two Nelly Korda, British golfer Hull, Lexi Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.

Officials mentioned that Kai's presence brings the sport to wider groups, particularly among the next generation.

The social media influencer maintains millions of followers and recently launched a personal apparel and wellness label.

The competition starts at 17:30 GMT.
